The BPI-R64 otherwise called Banana Pi R64 is based on the MTK MT7622 Dual-Core 1.35GHz Cortex A53. The processor runs on 64-bit architecture. The BPI-R64 has 1GB DDR3. It supports LAN as well as wireless connections. In addition to 1 SATA interface, the board has a 40-Pin GPIO header, HOST USB 3.0, Micro SD slot and an onboard 8GB eMMC. Banana Pi R64 allows you to use AC WiFi AP as well. The board has Bluetooth 5.0 System-on-Chip. The Adaptive Network technology of MediaTek MT7622 optimizes roaming, easy-setup, self-healing of a network, and smart devices.

Considering the weight and the board dimensions, Banana Pi R64 is by no means a compact Mini PC. It is slightly bigger than its predecessors but when it comes to performance, the BPI-R64 is a promising upgrade from Banana Pi. On the downside, this board does not have an HDMI port. The processing unit facilitates SGMII, FEM, and RGMII integration, along with the PCIe interface.

You can also upgrade the WiFi module using the 4x4ac MTK7615 for enhanced and uninterrupted wireless connectivity. In addition, the introduction of Bluetooth 5.0 is a good feature for those looking to connect Bluetooth supportive devices with Banana Pi R64. You can establish stable connections by using customizable router settings and configurable apps. Bluetooth 5.0 is twice as fast as Bluetooth 4.0. The range of BT 5.0 is 4 times more than that of BT 4.0.
